Magical Abilities:
He can talk. Additionally, having been mostly raised by witches, Than is highly sensitive to magic and can recognize when someone is particularly magical OR actually using magic (mostly by virtue of scent).
Because of the potion shoved down his throat (and its weird long-term effects that weren't supposed to be there), while he does not have any of his own, the magic he's absorbed from others can short-circuit magic around him. Not by his command, and not always at a helpful time (random! fun), but it does and occasionally can make him a very lucky wolf. Perhaps when he ages he'll become able to focus this into a sort of 'dead zone' that negates spells (if this is possible?)but at the moment it's not even remotely useful. more like the occasional oh-shit moment or deus-ex-machina.

Permanently the Bastion tower, but he's traveling at the moment as a nomad (thanks to a teenage tantrum that he's too stubborn to take back), perhaps will stay in Caedere for a while if he gets there.

Bastion tower guard dog and witches' pet.

Description:
-- brown cocoa-powder-colored coat
-- still lanky and slightly goofy, growing into himself. Than has large paws, scrappy tail, foxlike ears, long legs, body that could do with putting on a bit more muscle.
-- not a fan of rushing or hurrying; would rather be careful, take his time and avoid risks if possible.
-- stubborn. stubborn as a goat. can be childish about being stubborn once he's set his mind to something.
-- love stories, and hearing them. the wolf will often approach people he doesn't know just so he can hear where they're from and where they're going.
-- actually fairly polite aside from any accidental rudeness.
-- avoids kids of any species, and dislikes when people get touchy/feely.
-- very proud, but tries to avoid showing it.

History:
When he was about six months old, a student of the Bastion needed to test out her project and used Than as a living experimental model. Modus operandi: pry his mouth open and force it down his throat. Unfortunately for the young witch, her project was an utter failure andhad no real magical effect on the wolfseemed like it had no real effect but must have done something odd, considering his dead zone moments. Unfortunately for Thanatos, it was still boiling and burned his throat badly, damaging his vocal cords. Now he speaks in a fairly hoarse voice, has a difficult time yelling, and when he growls, it's mostly a wheezing/rattling sound.
Miscellaneous:
If someone tries to force him to eat or drink something now, Than will become irrationally furious and crazed and try to kill them in 'self-defense'. The animal is suspicious even of gifts and prefers to find his own food and water rather than sharing with even a well-meaning stranger; if he accepts food from you, you can be sure that Than trust you immensely. Yet, since most people don't go around trying to stuff things into talking wolves' mouths, this doesn't come into play very often.
