One would invision that doing the same thing every day would become boring. And yet again the idea of routine is heaven for some. In between these two theories of life strode Cassandra off the cumbersome steam train and onto the market streets. The train's shrill whistle arose a small frown on the young woman's face as she walked off the platform amongst a flurry of people. Practised feet in high heels floated across the cobblestone street full of uneven crevices dangerous to some.
After exiting the train platform and smoothing out her flawless outfit Cassandra continued on her usual route through the markets towards the shops and stalls that rose in prices. Pale blue eyes scanned over the products lazily quite ignorant of the bustling crowd buying their groceries. She was even oblivious of some shady looking characters doing some sort of deal down the crook of an alleyway. Much of this veiwpoint explained her attitude towards the world in general. If you weren't in her world, you weren't in any world at all.
As the common folk slowly disappeared and men with creaseless suits began trickling past her route, Cass new she was coming up to her favourite stores and a smalle smile curved her glossed lips. Turning into a clothing store with elegant objects in the window, her eyes immediately settled on an item. A pair of lacey gloves hung seductively new the entrance and she swept over to them with raised eyebrows and gleaming greedy eyes. Instead of the typical patterns sewn into lace such as floral design, little cogs of different sizes depicting the modern era were scattered in waves across the thin material which ended at the elbow.
Sights set on this soon to be purchase, Cassandra was none the wiser as to what was going on around her.

On most days this was one of the last places the pale and scar bodied girl would be found at. There were too many rich snobs hanging out, dangling the fact they had a big wad of cash to spend. Usually on the most useless crap too. However, it was an urgent run, and it was almost as though fate was finally being a little lenient. Red Axe was beginning to suffocate the little witch. Having a profession that most people sneered at was already enough of a hassle, but rumours got nasty fast.
The whispers of Kaya sleeping with a drunken man while working got through too many of the bars she waitressed for, and it became too much to go into any of them. The other female workers would be huddled in groups as she walked by, giggling to each other and watching her with judging glances, and the men got even more touchy feely as she served them, proceeding in more slaps than usual.
Thankfully, she found a job again on one of the airships, giving her a chance to escape this city for a while and deal with machines moreso than lustful greedy men. The only issue was that her good pair of gloves and goggles needed some replacing, so here she was. It was going to cost her most of her money she managed to make while here, but anything to get away from those terrible bars. While she would never deny she did things no parent would ever dream of hearing, knowing she was part of the main gossip irked her to a high state. Didn't those girls have anything better to do?
She was dressed in her usual airship attire as she patrolled through the high bustling streets of the more upper class, making her stick out like she was a flamingo among ravens. While most of the women here seemed to have nice dresses and proper victorian clothelines, she was wearing a stained white collared shirt, the sleeves large and poofy. A tight corset puffed up her bosom and curves, and tight black leather pants revealed her legs. Instead of the nice pair of heels a lot of the women here wore, she had on laced up brown boots that reached to her knees. Her oddly colored hair of black and purple was tied back into a ponytail, and of course, the first few buttons on her shirt were open to reveal the red gem that was placed on her choker, underneath that a number of pink scars from her past.
She had momentarily forgotten her quest and was simply people watching, walking down the street with her hands on her hips and smirking towards passerbys, who pretended to not see her and steered clear of her way. It was by this chance she saw a lovely high class girl admiring something at a store window, and she did a double take. She knew most of the royalty brats sprouted blonde hair, and hers was short. Was this the infamous younger princess, sneaking off again to do something illwill?
Nope. As Kaya got closer, she realized that not only did this woman have both her eyes, but realized the idiocy that she thought Claire would look that high class. She always heard the girl was odd about her choice of clothes. But still... she could make some small talk since she headed towards this way. She already looked odd having crossed a street only to pause before completely going to the person she had her sights on.
Instead she crept up towards the side of the girl, peering over her shoulder to see what she was staring at. A black eyebrow rose. "That's a fancy pair of gloves you're goggling at." Kaya said, nodding her head towards the window. "Though to be honest deary, I'd doubt they'd look that good on you. It'd completely clash your style. You wouldn't want that now would you?" The young witch honestly didn't know much about the victorian style of the rich. She just wanted to mess with this girl's head.

Cassandra's peripherals picked up the unusual colour of purple and red outside the store and approaching. Naturally her gaze rose from the pretty gloves to address the person approaching her or the store. She couldn't help but stare, her face giving no expression of her thoughts except for the slight twitch of the end of her eyebrow. Well didn't this woman stick out like a sore thumb. The woman spoke admiring the gloves aswell and Cass immediately felt challenged. A wonderful part of her personality to instantly get on the defensive and just part of being a late teen probably.
"Puh," she made the noise with irriation,"Sorry, but I saw them first. You can't have them." This woman was obviously trying to get the gloves for herself! The nerve. Flipping over the price tag, she smiled softly before facing the woman with squared shoulders. "Pity you probably couldn't afford them," as she finished her sentence however she noticed like a smack in the face this woman's colour red was not only from her eyes but from the stone around her neck. A recognised witch.
Cassandra couldn't hide the expressiosn from her face now. Was she going to be cursed or tortured by this witch's magic?! "Uh well I suppose I can keep looking. Don't want to make any hasty decisions... or assumptions. Here," she handed out the gloves for the woman to take hoping she hadn't offended her enough to get put under a wicked spell. It would be quite obvious that Cassandra didn't have any first hand experience with witches. She stood frozen waiting for the woman's response and already making escape plans in her head. Should she scream?

Eyes widened slightly at the defense reaction she got from the girl. Was she blind? Since when did Kaya ever scream fashion? All the clothes she had on now were bought from yard sales and the lot. Nothing she owned was considered new. She watched the blonde peek at the price tag and pursed her lips as she got a sneer, snorting. Of course she couldn't afford them. There was no hiding that fact.
Kaya had been partly expecting the rude reaction to her comment, but curiosity took over as soon as the blue eyed beauty looked suddenly terrified of her. Blinking twice, she tried to figure out the situation that suddenly turned. She wasn't sporting any weapons, so that wasn't the issue. She was sure she hid herself as a normal human fairly well. She couldn't go around waving her arms and screaming 'Imma witch! Run for your life!' though the way this young woman acted it seemed as though she just did. So Kaya just smiled.
"Oh nonsense. Nothing I own comes close to matching this fancy little thing here. I'd be more likely to get mud on it or something." She placed the pair of gloves back on its table as soon as the girl handed them to her. She then tilted her head to the side, beckoning the other to follow. "I do however know of a cute tiny store just around the corner if you want a look around. I'm sure there'd be tons of items there that'd suit your fancy." She placed her hands on her hips, waiting for a response. "Whattya say? It's always better to have a woman's opinion on these sort of things, dontcha think?"
Kaya wasn't sure why she was pestering this girl so much. Perhaps she was secretly hoping for some sort of gift for 'helping' out. Or she was just bored. Yeah. That was probably it.

Alright, she just needed to remain calm. This woman hadn't exploded into flames either because she hadn't caught on to Cassandra's train of thought or didn't see her as a threat. Probably that second theory the blonde thought with a sigh. "I was just uh... admiring your jewel is all," she explained her moment of frozen fright before steadying herself to focus on an escape plan. The relaxed tone was either sincere and bored, or manipulative and bored. "Well I'd be impressed if you could show me a place I hadn't found yet," she admitted in effort to sound casual and made the movement to follow the purple highlighted woman.
Cassandra knew these streets well. If they crossed into a deep crowd on their travels Cass decided to take that opportunity to make a break for it. If that failed, she would duck into one of a few shops where she had befriended the shop keepers and ask to hide. Well her father would be impressed with her making such strategic moves. "Well I will value a woman's opinion over a man's any day," she replied trying to keep the conversation going at least in order to explore this stranger's probably threat.
