There are five genres of magic. Normal humans can be born with small magical abilities, usually cheap tricks like momentary invisibility or light element manipulation. Witches, on the other hand, can master magic. As mentioned in the race section, witches specialize in a given genre but can learn spells from other categories. Their specialty is, however, their strong point.
If you want your witch to do something but aren't sure what category it belongs in, feel free to pm me.
Healing:
Also known as white magic. Witches specializing in healing can mend physical wounds (unless the victim is beyond help, and wounds need to be cleaned before healing or they'll trap dirt under the skin), sooth psychological troubles, create protective barriers, use illusions, break curses, purify putrid water, etc.
Elemental: (fire, water, air, earth)
Elemental witches can manipulate fire, water, wind and earth. There are subclasses as well, since witches sometimes concentrate their studies on one element. Most choose to learn them all regardless of the rigorous training.
Curse:
Also known as black magic. Witches with talents in the curse section know how to cause harm, physical or otherwise, to people from a distance. Inducing night terrors is a favorite trick. They can also drain energy from other living things and use it for themselves or transfer it to someone else.
Foresight
While many witches (and even some typical humans) have premonitions, true seerers are rare. They have the ability to tell the future, of course, but they can also sense odd events and work to unravel them. Most witches specializing in foresight carry a glass ball to help focus their energy and thoughts into visual images. Seerers require tremendous concentration and patience. A deep reading could take weeks to figure out. They can also communicate with other worldly creatures, such as ghosts and demons.
