Gypsies with seer talents are rare as they are in the rest of the world.

Silva is most skilled in Seer magic. Visions come to him when he is reaching a trance, brought on from a combination of music, dancing and drugging herbs and mushrooms, which open his mind. Also, Silva has lucid dreams, though these are far more unpredictable, tending to be cryptic.

Silva is a gypsy and proud of his heritage, dressing in extravagant flashy colored outfits. His current outfit consists of harem pants and a loose fitting shirt with a short cape. If he loosens his belt, the pants turn into a skirt. He walks and dances barefooted.

Silva is short and slender, a very feminine look, enhanced by the minimum make-up he uses. He has strawberry blond hair and light brown eyes.

Silva carries a lot of things when he's traveling. His trusted instruments mandolin, transverse flute. Packets of cards and dice for hosting gambling games in bars. Extra clothes for performances in rich estates.

Silva is a very positive person. He loves singing and dancing, whether its for money or just for his own entertainment. He loves nature and rural places and feels cramped inside buildings or large cities. He loves meeting new people and is very chatty, eager to meet new people.
Silva hates people who judge him on his looks or his heritage. Even then, he hates physical fighting, and will rather turn his back than start a fight. He often gets shouted at for his feminine looks or his lifestyle (living on the road, earning money with dancing and singing) or his heritage.

Silva has a very close connection to the members of his family. Because Gypsies are often shunned, they tend to get very close with each other.

History:
Silva grew up among his people, traveling gypsies. They go across the lands, performing for money. Gypsies aren't welcome in a lot of regions, where people think they are just thieves and their arts are not worth anything.

Silva has grown up learning music, dance and illusions. He is very skilled at gambling and card trickery as well.

Silva has learned basic healing magic from his mother. He learned he was skilled at seer magic at the age of 14, when he began having dreams and nightmares. The only other seer in his family is his grandmother, Tsura. She taught him how to control his abilities instead of succumbing to them.

While gypsies do exist on Halfmoon, they are not limited to or forced to have magic. Witches, that is humans who have above-the-normal magic abilities, exist in all human ethnicities. Please do not assume certain things like this; if you have any questions, please just ask either myself or Obi.

Also, please explain the extent of his foresight. Are they rogue witches? Or are they collared?

Sorry I'm not assuming anything. I just made a character and expected these questions.

I read that magic must be taught (most often in school) so I wondered if I could add to the lore that gypsies have their own magic secrets and rituals passed on through generations.

And they're gypsies, they're most likely rogues. I mean, they're outcasts. But I must have overread something, I dont remember reading about collaring?

You can add lore and rituals, sure. But the basic rules of magic still apply, so a witch who happens to be a gypsy can use or specialize in any of the four genres: healing, curse, elemental and foresight. You can say that his family favors curse, healing and foresight, if you'd like though.

Yeah, witches are forced to pay a magic tax. They wear collars that drain a certain amount of magic every month. Those who try to bypass the tax and avoid the collars are called rogue witches; they try to conceal their abilities from the public. There are also witch hunters, who make their money capturing said rogues and bringing them to trial.

Well I don't think they even could pay taxes, this because they are not official civilians of any country. So they would certainly be rogue witches.

Hey they're gypsies, they're used to it. Besides, any witch hunter coming alone against 12 gypsies might be more than a little dumb.
