Accessories: Her clothing varies, usually a coppery-colored shirt that hugs her torso tight, a few straps here and there, and a pair of comfortable shorts that still manage to hug her legs. Her feet are covered with wrappings, over them are a pair of strappy boots. She wears a bag on her back often, which opens towards her back at her own design, keeping other thieves and pick-pockets away. In the bag are various things, depending on her luck; food, clothing, trinkets, ect. A knife is strapped to her waist, a gift from her mother before the woman passed when Mouse was only five. It's very expensive looking, with intricate designs and lettering. The handle is made of silver, like the blade, with various jewels etched into it. But other then the dagger, she keeps one thing closer then anything else; her pet, no, partner in crime. Od, the clouded leopard. Od, or Oddy, was the little leopard cub the girl found when she was six, and the two were together ever since. Never seen apart. Od wears a leather harness, with a few silver rings on it for 'leashes' come time they enter a town. He's intelligent, and it's suspected he might be a folk, though he never speaks if he is. More about Od in Relationships...
Description:
Personality wise, she's outgoing. Random to a tee, and constantly upbeat, it's hard to find Mouse without some sort of adventure planned. She does everything with a bright head, thinking things through as she does them. She has a fiery temper, a bold outlook on life, and it's hard to convince her trust, but otherwise, she's the best dang friend anyone could have.
Physically, she's not so bad either. Standing at five feet, five inches, this lean, thin girl is a far cry from the tall, slender women around her. With light brown hair, braided down her back from years of not cutting it, and bright green eyes, it's hard not to consider her to be pretty or cute. Her skin is a shade something like mocha, not white but not black or oriental. Her arms and legs are strong, calloused hands and feet from climbing and roughing around. Her ribs show past her muscle just a bit, and it's hard to find her with a full belly, but she's generally happy despite it all. That's not what's best about her though; the best part is her tail. Long, nearly five feet, and completely prehensile. Speckled black hairs coat it thickly, though it's mostly brown like her hair. Though fluffy and round at the top, the bottom of it is flat, making it hard to tell what animal would normall have a tail like it. (Lemurs do, for all you people who are curious.) She gladly shows it off without a second thought, proud of her little deformity.
Relationships:
It's hard to find her alone, as normally, despite laws, her best friend and only companion, Od the clouded leopard, is at her side. He's grown to an adult age, though a good fifteen years still remain on his lifespan thanks to a careful diet and good lifestyle. The two are almost never apart, and it shows with how she seems to be able to understand the slightest whisker twitch from her friend. He's extemely protective of Mouse, and it's not uncommon to find him baring his fangs to anyone trying to get near her, and she rarely notices.
History:
For five years, Astrid was happy. Her mother was alone, though, and Astrid was a bastard child. But such things didn't matter; they had eachother and that's all they needed. Then her mother became sick, and never got better. One night, close to Astrid's sixth birthday, her mother went to sleep and never woke up. In fear of being sold to an orphanage, Astrid ran away from her home, bringing with her only the knife her mother had given her months before. It wasn't another year or so later that she found another orphan; the leopard cub whome she gladly took with her and named Od. (She meant Oz, like the wizard from the book, but a lost tooth had made it harder to pronounce, so Od kind've stuck.) Basically, Astrid, now calling herself Mouse, and Od, took journey to find their place in life. Unable to read or really write, Mouse's only hope was to invent. And she did; she invented the backpack that opened from the inside, and the harness that Od wore, that kept him mobile but easy to handle when it came time to leash up for a city. Now her life's goal was to get some recognition for her inventive mind.. but being fifteen, it's kind of hard.
Miscellaneous: Her history is shabby, because I'm not too good at writing something that wouldn't be overly detailed. Od IS a folk, he just doesn't talk. He can, he just... chooses not to. Mouse has heard him talk before, but doesn't think anything of it.
Mouse goes by Mouse because her first ever pet was a mouse, named Cheese, whome she left behind when she ran away.
