Steampunk is a hypothetical future were steam power dominates its technology, similar to that of the Victorian era. In Halfmoon's universe, magic can also be harvested and used as a viable energy source for both average life and otherwise. For instance, the halfsun bomb was created with magic that stole half the sun's remaining lifespan.

Science and magic also go hand in hand; it's considered almost impossible to have one without the other.
