Herein, a few of the forest's notable landmarks are described.
Clearwater Lake
At the heart of the Brumeveil sits Clearwater Lake. There are many myths surrounding the lake. Some say the water has healing properties. There are legends of a kelpie that resides at the deepest part of the lake, waiting to lure her next victim into a watery grave. The legends are perpetuated by the odd adventurer and over-earnest fisherman that brave the wilds to make their way here.
The Cottage
West of Clearwater Lake and beyond a patch of particularly dense brush and winding roots, sits a clearing. In this clearing sits a large tree with a thick and fat trunk. Tucked against the tree’s side is a small cottage. Its roof is overtaken by moss and other greenery, giving the appearance of nature trying to assimilate the man-made construction. The canopy breaks enough to allow light free access and motes of dust and nature float idly in the air. The clearing is a quiet place despite the unusual density of birds in the area. Crows and owls sit in the shadowy branches and watch with intense scrutiny anyone who makes it this far into Brumeveil. The forest has eyes.
