Hey guys, I'm Wil, I'm a new guy but I'm trying to get back into RPing and I feel like this is a good way to do it.
I just posted my first character, but this plan doesn't have much to do with him. It has to be with my second planned character, the third Prince Brightmore. He will be, for some reason that I invent up in my head in the near future, in the town of Silvereye, perhaps for a political reason. Little does he know, he is about to have to fight for his life. A group of rebels has been tailing him for a while, and is preparing for the inevitable abduction. But as the plans are about to take off, the Kelpie's influence floods their area of the city, and then subjects it to more and more intense wave activity. During this, a mob-style chase happens when a mob of witches hijacks some of the Kelpie's power and they are able to break some Kelpie offspring and ride them to chase down the prince, whose escorts break to escort him to the train to escape, and once he's there it becomes an attack/defend mission with the prince's safety on the line.
Should whoever's RPing the kidnappers come out victorious (as decided mostly by the RPers coming to mutual agreement, and disputes can be solved by a mod or other impartial party) the Prince will fall into their possession, possibly kick-starting something in terms of main storyline subplots..
This is semi-inspired by my recent Western kick.

I think it's a really sweet idea. I don't think I have any characters that would fit the bill as far as needing kidnappers.

It doesn't have to be set before it begins, either. People can join either side of the chase, and this could even lead their characters into bigger things (recognition of bravery by royals, possible rebel recruitment, etc.)
I'm glad my first idea sounds like a good one, I hope it takes off.

Couple problems with this idea, mostly the kelpie bit. You can't break a kelpie; they're pretty much soggy demon horses who like to eat people. If someone touches one, they're stuck. Kelpies secrete glue from the skin, so if you're stuck to it, you're out of luck as mr. demon horse will drown you in the nearest water source.
The abduction part is fine by itself though, as is the influence flooding.

All right, well, nothing is stopping any NPC elemental witches from shaping the water into their own horses/means of transportation, is there? I was only really planning on the Kelpie being present as the chase starts, either way.

I think Riley would be into kidnapping the prince, as long as she had sufficient backup. She's not stupid enough to try something like that all by her lonesome.
Hell she'd just want to ransom him off though for money. She don't give a shit bout' no politics xD

She's from Howe, as well, so perhaps she could draw motivation from Kristofferson's current (failing) movement to improve Howe.
Anywho, yeah, Riley would work out just fine. So shall we say she is in it for the money? Also, you'll have full back-up from NPCs, if nothing else.
