the military of sideris

ello ello, before i start on my first character i have a few short questions regarding sideris and how their military operates, plus a few more regarding half-fairies.

1. is there a species restriction in the military? a pretty straight-forward question... would the military favor humans in their ranks and discriminate against fairies and half-fairies, or is there an outright restriction on who can and can't join? if fairies and half-fairies can join, would they be exempt from their magic tax?

2. are there checkpoints outside of dirge? i know that knights and soldiers from the neighboring country would be barred from entrance, but would they try to stop commoners from, say, howe, from entering? what about those cursed (from witches) or with mutations (from Ash)?

3. military uniforms? is there a set uniform for the military ranks of sideris? if so, what colors would they be or what would they look like? or do we have free reign?

4. can any race "turn into" a fel’asaris? would a character (not human) that mutated because of the magical radiation/Ash from the halfbomb. would they be considered a mutation of their respective race or a fel'asaris?

...i could've sworn i had more but clearly i forgot the rest. so i think that's it for now, i just want to be sure and clear before i even start on my character.

1. is there a species restriction in the military?

- There is no open prejudice but it is observed that humans tend to hold higher ranks and progress through ranks more quickly. Consider it an existing but unspoken prejudice.

- No one is exempt from magic tax unless that soldier/knight is out on deployment.

2. are there checkpoints outside of dirge?

Yep, there are lots of checkpoints especially on the roads leading directly to Dirge. People are let in unless they have a contagious disease or present suspicious activity.

This may change should the country be under threat by something.

3. military uniforms?

Feel free to design your own. Stick with lighter/muter colors though.

Your design may very well become our canon.

4. can any race "turn into" a fel’asaris?

I have NO idea. Best wait for Rip to get to this one.

Nothing turns into a fel’asaris; they're a separate race. The originate from corrupted witches, theoretically.
