(trying out for Red Hero) >3<
bigger version: i19.photobucket.com/albums/b165/Deitras/jportrait-1.png
Name: Jahel Yasmeir
Age: 31 years
Species: Human
Height: 6’8’’ – 6’9’’
Weight: 251 lbs.
Family:
Mother:Kaheiaka Yasmeir
Father:Zuomi Yasmeir
Siblings: Rasmarius Yasmeir
Children: Rhett Yasmeir
Lover: Said to have had an illegitimate child with a woman named Burnadette Gil, but no evidence of a solid relationship.
Magical Abilities: Jahel had been born with a certain affinity for fire. He is fond of warmth and detests cold, always gives off a certain heat, and can conjure no more than a small flame. He did not pursue any magical interests, however, preferring to stick to more physical means. As a result he is only capable of the very slightest mastery over fire and a certain love of it.
Birthplace: Fossgate, Sideris
Current Residence: Dirge, Sideris
Occupation: Red Hero
Accessories: none
Description:
Jahel makes an imposing figure at 6’8’’. One scar is visible near his mouth and the other near his right eye. His height is matched by his lean weight (at an impressive 251 pounds) and the form that years of physical training has brought him. His most recognizable feature, however, is probably his long red hair – making him easily spotted from a distance. All this, combined with a sharp dark gaze, would give the impression that Jahel is a formidable and threatening kind of man.
But Jahel works hard to counter this. He is friendly and warm to strangers and those close to him; he gets close, smiles, goes out of his way for them, and speaks deliberately slowly, with the slightest hint of a drawl – all to put those he interacts with at ease. His choice of words are spontaneous yet careful, a delicate balance between casual and reserved. Jahel often flatters; often laughs. For those that do not know him and even some who do, it is enough to utterly convince them that he is a kind and charming gentleman (if a bit quirky) despite his appearances. In fact, that is typically the most popular opinion of him.
But Jahel is far from that man. Most are fooled; others see the red flags and know him for what he is. Jahel has, at the very least, sociopathic tendencies – if he isn’t one completely. What seems to be emotion is only carefully constructed that way; and they are shown only if he feels it is appropriate to the situation or if it is beneficial to him. Where normal people fear pain and conflict, Jahel thrives in it. He lies easily, and feels no regret. His “love” is his jealousy; those that he values or keeps near he sees not as individuals in themselves, but property that he needs to protect from harm, no more than prized possessions – a behavior that others often mistake for genuine love.
As someone possibly devoid of a conscience, he can usually only feel in a shallow, surface kind of way. Though it seems as though he would have a temper, Jahel prefers to appear calm and composed (with a side of banter and offhand wit). It is incredibly hard for any one to make Jahel angry in a way that is completely unfabricated…though he is known to have instances of intense emotions and no one deserves to see them.
But for all this, Jahel is brave. His lack of emotion gives him a surprisingly analytical view of things, as well, enabling him to think in different ways and perceive things normally hidden. He has a phenomenal mathematical faculty, and makes sure that those under his care are well looked after. Jahel is hard-working and clean, ambitious, but militaristic in the way Sideris is best known for. He is a strong fighter, courageous, powerful and intelligent…if a little ambitious.
Relationships:
Burnadette “Siren” Gil – Jahel is a little promiscuous when it comes to partners. However, Burnadette (nicknamed “Siren”) is the only person he’s had a long-lasting relationship with. Though it was ended, it often goes on and off, and even ended in a child once. Siren did not want it. Jahel happily volunteered to take him.
Rhett Yasmeir – Jahel’s son. If there was ever any proof that Jahel was NOT sociopathic, Rhett would have to be it. He is his only weak point…but he is possessive of his only son as per usual.
His parents – both dead, some say by his hand.
History: Jahel was born and raised in Sideris. He showed some indication of magical ability, but never pursued it. He had been an odd kid, however; his parents always remarked on it. He was interested in different things, they said. He played odd games.
But Jahel grew up regardless. Hewas taken in by the military and the strength of the physical world. He enjoyed competition, and conflict; he found that he was good at combat and sought to further himself. Through combat experience and a few battles that earned him his scars, Jahel eventually climbed to the top thanks to military excellence – and sometimes subterfuge.
It was about this time that both parents died in a heavy machinery accident. Jahel was said to be out of town during the time.
Jahel then moved to Sideris’s capitol in order to be closer to his work. It was there that he met Siren, forming a rather strange relationship with her; he had a young boy named Rhett, who he took in and cared for. Rhett is generally kept away, though, since it could not be too good for Jahel’s reputation if anyone found out he had an illegitimate child.
