Name: Arcuri Ammirati
Age: 28
Species: Witch
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 141lbs.
Family:
Mother: Leoni Ammirati, 49 years. A housewife, beautiful and wise to the way to raise a family. She is an untrained witch, no longer practicing magic to the calibre that it would be of any use to the tax imposed on witches. For her husband's significance, and unpracticed nature, she is not required to wear a collar.
Father: Marcellus Ammirati, 57 years. Founder of Lindersmith Company and expert engineer. He is and has always been a busy man, often distancing himself from the likes of his children and extended family.
Siblings: Soleil Ammirati, 19 years. Magnus Ammirati, 11 years. Both educated in the ways of mechanics and engineering, it is unseen if either has any real magical ability. In the absence of both her father and older sister, Soleil takes it upon herself to be Magnus' companion when he seems bored or lonely.
Magical Abilities: Elemental specialist, dabbling in white and black magic.
Birthplace: Sideris.
Current Residence: A new day, a new road.
Occupation: Wandering entertainer. A hired hand, of a considerably more peaceful nature. A jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none, the self-respecting woman boasts a wide array of talents and skills. Story-telling, or fortune-telling... sometimes the same thing in the mind of one simply trying to survive. She is skilled in the operating mechanisms of firearms and watches, and practiced in the cleaning of bladed weaponry. Private tutoring, acting as a scribe when needed. It's clear by all the woman is able to do to earn a little money, that she's been on her own for some time.
Accessories:
{1} A black blindfold that covers both of her eyes. Though she lacks vision, her eyes are still faintly receptive to light, though only in short and unexpected spurts. Not only does she find this to be disorienting, but she is self-concious of the deadpan stare that passing strangers would otherwise meet in those bright blue eyes.
{2} A circular pendant, tied into her hair. It is commonly believed to be a symbol worn by those of her family who practice magic, to strengthen the user's ability and clarity. In actuality, it is a charm made from the rare element Livingstone, hand-crafted by a master artisan of enchanted items and a close friend of Arc. When worn by the user, the Livingstone collects energy from the living creatures that the user encounters. It is rumored that, over time, if the presence of another living thing becomes so constant, their energy signature may translate into visions in dream.
{3} Revolver, sim. Smith & Wesson 686SSR.
{4} A large female binturong, her familiar. She affectionately refers to her as 'big sister' or 'Ioele.' The animal is capable of a handful of minor spells, utilizing the magical store of her master, and often acts as Arcuri's eyes over treacherous terrain. Ioele wears a similar pendant as Arcuri to channel magic from one being to the other, though much smaller and buried deep within her heavy coat of fur.
{5} She no longer wears a magical collar, though she does not see herself as being 'rogue'. There is a mission on her mind, and she cannot find any other means than to use everything she has to see it to a close. All for one memory.
Description:
Really old doodle & quick art-ings.
Somewhere between curvy and slender, the woman stands as tall as some shorter men, with a sturdy, yet feminine form that is not so well suited for physical combat. She has poor perception of actual space and range of contact, as her eyesight has dwindled away to nothing. Her senses of hearing and touch have become extraordinarily efficient as a result, creamy white skin so sensitive that she can easily distinguish any texture with little though. Her memory is strong, concentration and focus ever-clear, able to recall even those whom she'd met once or twice before by some small detail of their being. A lock of hair particularly course, or fine, a scar or imperfection felt on the skin, a faint scent of clothing or perfume.
Arcuri has long, pale golden hair, and bright blue eyes - startling almost in color though rarely seen for the woman's own self conscious nature. She is soft-spoken, but not timid, well-mannered, and anything but sedentary. Always on the move, always learning new things. Stubborn as anyone ever was, she is searching for someone from her past that she refuses to give up. Even if it means defying legal decree and outside doubting influence. She is confident, and calm, hiding any hint that she worries about the future and what it holds. What she'll find when she finally finds him.
Relationships:
{1} Achaius Artaxerxes: Her closest friend, and childish fancy. They met years before when his face was unscarred and her eyes still witnessed images in the surrounding atmosphere. He aided her in her time of need, to which she still feels indebted to him after so long. Considered a couple by some, but not by either Achaius or Arcuri - desire of intimacy and romance never pursued, in her part.
{2} Viscia Lavadiere: A master craftsman in the art of enchanted trinkets and weaponry. He is a personal friend of Arcuri's father, though somewhat younger, who admired her privately. Left behind in Sideris with a goodbye and a pendant as a parting gift. She worries that he will be found out and punished after aiding her in the removal of the collar that would have provided a magical tax.
History:
The daughter of a wealthy middle class family, Arcuri received only the best training and education, and the finest things her father's salary could afford them. As close to royalty as a commoner could come. Her father, an engineer himself, is the founder of Lindersmith Company. Once a trading industry, reformed as an industry on the cutting edge of technology and mechanical advancement. Engines that produced more power, Zepplins that flew higher and faster, and locomotives that could carry more passengers and cargo further than ever before.
During her training in magic, a curse was placed upon her as a young girl that would cause her eyesight to wither slowly, year by year. No reason why, not known by any who could confess it, the curse itself was detected by her mother who had instead elected to let her daughter believe it only a natural occurance. Out of fear, or something more...
Bright eyes grew brighter, images grew dim, until the darkness closed in around four years ago. About the same time that her closest friend vanished from existence as she was aware - and not for the magical ailment which had robbed her of sight. Only a month later, the woman left her home in search of the one she'd lost, excusing herself early out of Bastion Tower's teachings. She had no patience left to wait out the conclusion of her training, which she vowed to complete by her own power and by her own time. For the time had come where she should pay back her debt, even if it meant traveling to world's end to make it so. She just couldn't forget.
Miscellaneous:
Likes children, sugar, nighttime, crows, the touch of another - though it may surprise her if she's not expecting it, tomatoes, wind, warmth, blankets, feathers, cool metallic sensation, sleeping outside, the tapping sound of heeled boots on marble.
Dislikes the sensation of flight, or being lifted off of the ground, forgetting to say 'please' or 'thank you', uneven trails and rough ground, low-hanging branches, breathing down the back of her neck.
