How much would people know about the bomb? I mean the regular day to day people.
It seems with something that big they'd know a fair bit, and so with that, how feasible would it be for a character to come up with the theory that the magic being taken from the witches is being used to make another bomb of a similar effect?

They don't really have a reason to suspect another bomb, but I suppose some conspiracy theory hard-eyed people might come to that conclusion. Those closer to the castles/governments might suspect as well. Most people don't want to believe that their government is trying to replicate something that killed 1/3 of the world though. They wanna keep their illusions, just like people like to pretend life is a-okay as the world dies.

AS FOR the halfsun bomb, most people know it was magic that fueled it, which reinforced the anti-witch opinion of the public.

That kinda seems to be taking it on the grounds that the character's living in a perma denial about things. If they had a realistic view on things and tended to view their government as jerkoffs then it wouldn't be so unrealistic for them to suspect such, would it?
I mean even in this day and age people come up with all kinds of crap about their governments just because they're looking for someone to blame. A lot of the time they're wrong, but sometimes they're not.

I'M not planning on doing this like... TOMORROW (or at all but anyway), but further down the line it could just make for an interesting concept. Wrong or not -shrugs-

Yeah, those dissatisfied with their lives (especially those in the port cities and slums, or, you know, forced to wear giant collars) are certainly critical of the government. You're free to have your character believe whatever you want. Later, there will be 'leaks' about the halfmoon bomb. I'm not sure if I want that to be a forum wide plot or just have a few characters in on it. We'll see. As of right NOW though, there's nothing but guess work or paranoia that suggests they're making another bomb.

Thinking on it seems stupid to suspect anything right now, but if/when that plot runs through depending on how it's done then it could be pretty snazzy.
