They stole half the sun’s life and made a bomb.

The Halfsun bomb obliterated an entire country. 50 years later, the last two kingdoms fight over resources and luxuries while their people dodge air raids and die in the mud. Governments force witches to wear energy draining collars to power their cities and war zeppelins. Talking beasts strut down the streets trying to look and act human. Monsters creep from out the tangled forests and infest the slums. And, through all the blood and death and grit, people in the capitols try to live their lives regardless of war, even though the sun is dimmer and the world is sick. None of them suspect that their own kingdoms might be insane enough to replicate the bomb.

Halfmoon is a high fantasy steampunk roleplay that allows all levels of writing experience. You may use one account or multiple, and there's no character maximum.

Kingdom of Caedere
[ ]Silvereye (1 sub-board)
The capitol city of Caedere. In Silvereye it’s always raining. The old dark gray stone that forms the walls, buildings and streets of Silvereye give the city an austere and quiet demeanor. The dreary atmosphere disguises a scheming nation and a government that watches its citizens closely. The citizens within the city would be wise to guard what they say; there are agents of the government everywhere listening for words of dissent.

[ ]Red Axe
This city serves as the main port of Caedere. Ships carrying goods land here to distribute their wares. There are docks for sea bound vessels and an Airdome for inbound and outbound airships. A high population of fisherman call this city home. The main traffic on the continent occurs between Silvereye and Red Axe as goods make their way from city to city.

[ ]Carden
Carden has all but been abandoned by the prospering cities of Silvereye and Red Axe. The buildings are falling apart and the roads are slowly being overtaken by vegetation. The people here often resort to crime to survive; there are few other options. Pirates and highwaymen have made this city one of their favorite haunts. Debauchery and extortion boldly show their faces on every street corner.

Brumeveil Forest
[ ]The Black Dog
The Black Dog is not really in the forest, but it's in a strip of neutral land and does not owe allegiance to either kingdom. It's a pub and an inn for any wayfarer, and travelers use it as a meeting point. Or as a place to get drunk and bathe after coming out of the forest. Whichever.

[ ]Bastion Tower
Hidden deep in the forest is an enormous stone tower. Protected by hundreds of shields and enchantments, it can't be seen from airship even if you happened to fly right over it. This is the fabled Bastion Tower, a school and sanctuary for witches. There are only two ways to find the tower: someone must lead you to it or you stumble upon it on foot.

[ ]The Vanguard Mountain Range
The trees of Brumeveil dwindle and grow sparse in the higher altitudes, suffocated by the lack of oxygen and unable to break their roots through a layer of permafrost. The peaks of Vanguard are constantly covered in a white blanket of snow and it is not uncommon for snow storms to visit parts of the mountain range during Spring and Summer. It’s not often humans choose to travel to the mountains. They are known be home to beasts and renegades, to witches and ‘criminals’ trying to evade capture. They are so named for the purpose they served in the past, standing as a first defense against encroaching armies. For those seeking refuge in the sheer rock cliffs and treacherous terrain, the name still resonates.

[ ]The Woodland
The forest is massive and stretches as far as the eye can see. It’s a wild, living thing that serves as home to some of the world’s most dangerous beasts. Venturing too deep into the woods unprepared and inexperienced would surely spell disaster. The accounts of people disappearing into the woodwork never to return are too many to be nothing more than myth. There’s a local legend that a wraith haunts the forest, hungry for the souls of the lost and the wayward. It’s enough to keep the children in line, at least.

Nation of Sideris
[ ]Dirge (1 sub-board)
Dirge is the capitol of Sideris. This industrial city concentrates on the war machine and what it can do to feed it. The government strictly regulates trade and fills the streets with propaganda. Participation in the military is greatly encouraged and almost expected. A large wall surrounds the city, guarding it from immediate outside threats. Dirge has a large Airdome that houses its fleet and is constantly developing new technologies.

[ ]Fossgate
Fossgate is the main port of Sideris. This is where much of the manufacturing occurs as far as airships go. The city’s infrastructure is based on trade and thus serves as a huge hotspot for merchants. Pirates and people of fortune alike frequent the various pubs and inns looking for leads and opportunities. Located by the coast, Fossgate also stands as Sideris’ access to the sea.

[ ]Howe
The city of Howe has fallen into decay. Without enough revenue to support the city, many of the buildings are dilapidated. Crime is common and the mentality here is based on survival of the fittest. The strong prey on the weak and con artists and brigands are quick to take advantage of any opportunity that comes their way. Nature is making an effort to integrate the city. Creeping vines crawl over the walls and parts of the street.

The Grey Wastes
[ ]Dragon's Spine
Islands off the western coast of the Grey Wastes. The rocky shores are a death trap to boats, and the magical barriers placed around cave entrances can only mean one thing: treasure. Or death. Whichever comes first.

[ ]The Grey Wastes
A destroyed country that crawls across half the continent. It's nothing but ash and poison and grey rain. The bones and rubble of the once proud cultures are the victims of the Halfsun bomb; everything else, the forests and all, are just casualties.
